Loaves and Fishes has been a primary supporter of Paroled2Pride's frequent community feeding events where free food is distributed in Lowndes County and the Golden Triangle area.

Loaves & Fishes Community Soup Kitchen of Columbus was initiated by St. Paul's Episcopal Church in collaboration with other Lowndes county Churches to eradicate hunger in Columbus. Loaves and Fishes serves Lunch 4 days a week to an average daily crowd of 150 people.
A free meal can relieve the stress of purchasing and preparing meals for individuals, children, and families in need. According to the American Association of Medical Colleges, 54 million people in America faced food insecurity in 2020 during the current pandemic. A lack of access to nutritious food can have dire consequences on the health of any adult or child in need of nourishment. Because of organizations like Loaves and Fishes, families in Lowndes County have a dependable source for consistent meals without worrying about the cost to eat.

Paroled2Pride is proud to be a part of the collective effort to fight food disparities in Mississippi. Over 559,350 people in Mississippi struggle with hunger and about 162,150 of them are children*. We hope to remedy the hunger epidemic in the Golden Triangle region of Mississippi by collaborating with our beloved non-profit partner Loaves and Fishes in continuous efforts to feed the community.
Our staff and participants always enjoy the chance to fellowship and serve at Loaves and Fishes. We are grateful to have such a valuable connection in the Lowndes County area. To learn more about Loaves & Fishes Community Soup Kitchen of Columbus, CLICK HERE to visit their Facebook Page.
